Drummers For Jesus chapter formed here Brenda Harrison Editor Jesus and drums - that is the focus of a new organization in town. Local drummers Bryan DuBose and Randy Oswalt have spearheaded a Drummers for Jesus Chapter for the Pee Dee area. The groups meets the second Tuesday of the month at the Palmetto Street Church of God This non-profit non-denominational organization was started in Texas by drummer Carlos Benson. It now has chapters located throughout the world, including Florence. "Drummers love to get together," says Bryan DuBose, adding this group offers the opportunity for drummers to network, fellowship and share ideas. This is free and open to drummers of all skill levels, interests and musical styles. The meetings begin with a short devotion and prayer, followed by various drum activities, instruction and performances. "We are geared toward using our talents for God and sharing the Gospel," DuBose commented. Meetings are open to the public and the next meeting is scheduled for May 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church located at 132 W. Palmetto St.
